Hello 2025! Hello KonMari Club!

It all begins with an idea.

Hello Beautiful!

I am so excited to share the very first blog post from Tidy and Bloom!

Many people have been asking what I have been up to in the incredible year of 2024 and what I am looking forward to as we step into 2025.

If I had to sum up 2024 in a single word, it would undoubtedly be "Cultivated."

It was truly a year of tending to the rich soil of my life, nurturing the seeds I have been diligently planting, and forging lasting relationships that I will cherish and carry with me into the future.

As a devoted KonMari consultant, I quickly began to realize that once individuals (including myself) had effectively cleared all the clutter from their lives, pulled out all the persistent weeds that had crept in over time, and created a peaceful physical sanctuary within their homes, it became essential to transition towards enhancing their overall lifestyle..

This is were Patty Morrissey and her thoughtfully designed Clear and Cultivate method came into play, I accepted an invitation to join her in a Pilot Program for the KonMari Club, a Year Long mutual self improvement club of gently exploring 12 different categories of life. Every month you focus on a different area of life in a playful and curious way…

“I wonder what might happen if….”

This experience aligned so beautifully with what I have been passionately advocating for years: not only creating a spark joy home but also cultivating that spark joy life that we all deserve.

It is never to late to try something new, here are a few highlights from my last year as I look forward to seeing what 2025 brings..

  • Going on a SoloDate to a 20 year Reunion

  • Daily Walks in Nature

  • Creating this little Corner of the Internet

  • Having a Photoshoot to celebrate this season of life

  • Planning and Putting in the work to create Memorable Family Holidays.

  • Kayaking the Credit River.

  • Making a quilt ( and discovering the joy of sending it to a “long arm”)

  • Forest Restoration and Growing Copious amounts of Lavender as fire starter.

  • Lovingly saying Goodbye to my pet/best friend of 17 years, Hazel.

  • Joining a Historical Walking Tour Club to be a tourist in my own town.

  • Taking an EPIC girls trip to Savannah, Georgia.

  • Korean BBQ and learning how to eat graciously with chopsticks

  • Tuesday Night Hot Tub and Dinner Dates with my Mom.

  • Hiking the Bruce Trail at Goodyear Memorial Scout Camp.

  • Visiting Friends that feel like Family in Florida

Twenty-Twenty Five just has a beautiful ring to it and as I look forward to the Year ahead I can’t wait to see what lies behind the next turn..

Sometimes we are offered an invitation that can change our life for the better. Because a friend offered it to me, I would like to offer it to you. I will forever be grateful that I now move through the world Tidy and Blooming thanks to Marie Kondo and Patty Morrissey.

Quilt Love

It all begins with an idea.

Quilt Love: Displaying Quilts to Honor Their Beauty and Meaning

Quilts are often tucked away in closets, stored in hopes chests, or hidden under the bed, waiting for the right moment to be used. Yet, time and again, I hear from quilters and quilt-givers alike: "I hope they’re used, loved, and well-worn." It's clear that quilts aren't just blankets—they’re stories stitched into fabric, gifts passed through generations, and reminders of moments we cherish.

Just recently, a client of mine pulled out a baby quilt that had been given to her firstborn by his great-grandmother. She looked at it with such affection, then confessed with a bit of sadness that, in an effort to protect it, the quilt had remained folded and stored away, rarely used. She realized that, over the years, it hadn't quite taken on the meaning it could have for her son.

It’s a powerful reminder for all of us: Quilts are meant to be celebrated—not hidden away. They deserve to be part of our lives, woven into our everyday moments, so that their stories continue to unfold.

Here are a few simple yet beautiful ways to display your quilts—giving them the attention and love they deserve while preserving their legacy:

1. Blanket Ladders

Stylish and functional, blanket ladders let you easily drape your quilts where everyone can see and admire them. Plus, they’re a great space-saver!

2. Traditional Quilt Racks

Nothing says "timeless beauty" like a classic quilt rack. These racks not only keep your quilts in pristine view but also give them a place of honor, transforming them into a statement piece for any room.

3. Cozy Reading Nooks

Drape a quilt over a favorite chair or sofa in your reading nook. It adds instant warmth, comfort, and charm—turning the space into a perfect retreat for curling up with a good book.

4. Family Room Baskets

Keep quilts handy for movie nights or cool evenings by displaying them in a basket in the living room. It’s a practical way to keep them close while showing off their beauty.

5. End of the Bed

Display a quilt at the foot of your bed, adding a welcoming touch and a burst of color to your bedroom. It’s the perfect place to show off the quilt’s textures, patterns, and story.

6. Open Shelves or Nightstands

For smaller quilts, fold them neatly and display them on a nightstand or open shelf. This simple touch can add character to any room, and it keeps the quilt within easy reach for those cozy moments.

A Call to Quilt Lovers Everywhere

Quilts are more than just pieces of fabric stitched together—they are memories, emotions, and legacies that deserve to be seen, loved, and used. Whether it’s a quilt passed down through generations or one you’ve carefully crafted by hand, let it take its rightful place in your home.

So, I encourage you, dear quilt lover: Find a way to display your quilts proudly. Show off their beauty, their history, and the love they carry. Let them become part of your daily life, not just a keepsake tucked away.

Let’s keep the love of quilts alive—one stitch, one quilt, and one cozy corner at a time.

Blog Post Title Three

It all begins with an idea.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
